Our mission

Build the best-run Wingstop group in the country.
Build the best leaders to run it.

Our tagline: Let's run it. Run it right.

About us

We are Magic Wingdom, a Wingstop franchise operator based in Central Florida, with restaurants stretching from Palm Beach County to Duval County.

We take pride in running great restaurants, and we believe the strength of this business is the people who run them. Our goal is to be the most hospitable quick-service restaurant group in the country, for both our guests and our team.

Our story

Magic Wingdom opened its first restaurant in Sanford, Florida, on December 13, 2016. But the idea started years earlier with husband-and-wife team Chuck and Lisa Soderstrom.

Chuck brought a calm demeanor and strong financial experience from a career with J.P. Morgan and 13 years as COO of Impala Asset Management. Lisa brought a degree in industrial engineering, a background in logistics at Procter & Gamble, and a passion for building systems and lifting up the people around her.

What started with hopes of opening a handful of restaurants has grown into a company led by COO Jordan Ridgeway, with a team committed to developing leaders, taking care of our guests, and running restaurants we're proud of.

Chuck and Lisa Soderstrom also remain 50% owners of MoMagic LLC.

Our people

Developing people is a big part of how we've grown, and it's how we intend to keep growing. We want our team members to have the tools, support, and opportunities to build a career here.

We have high expectations for our restaurants and for ourselves. That means taking pride in the small details, helping each other get better, and making sure the effort our team puts in doesn't go unnoticed. We take recognition seriously.

Beyond our restaurants

That commitment to people reaches beyond our own restaurants. Lisa was an early champion of Wingstop Charities and its work supporting team members across the brand.

Through the Wingstop Foundation, team members across the country can receive financial help when unexpected hardships arise. Its assistance and scholarship programs have provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in support to Wingstop team members.

We're proud of Lisa's role in helping support people throughout the Wingstop family, including those going through some of the hardest moments in their lives.

Who we are, and how we work

At Magic Wingdom, culture isn't a poster on the wall. It's how we operate every shift, every meeting, every guest interaction. Three ideas shape everything we do.

1

We do things the right way — even when no one is watching.

Integrity is the floor of everything we do. It is not something we teach people to demonstrate — it is something we hire for. If you have it, you will thrive here. If you don't, we won't be a fit.

2

We build leaders as intentionally as we build restaurants.

Every seat in our organization must be filled by someone who can actually do the job. We do not hand out titles — people earn them. Once you are here, your growth is our responsibility. We invest in feedback, coaching, and development because the ceiling of our organization is the ceiling of our people.

3

We treat every person — teammate, guest, community member — with respect.

Especially when it is hard. Especially under pressure. The way we handle a bad day is the way we are really measured.

The principles

Everything above is captured in our seven Operating Principles. They are the substrate underneath every hiring, coaching, and recognition decision we make.

SpeedUrgency without compromise.
TrustSay what you mean. Follow through.
ExecutionTake pride in every task, big and small.
LoyaltyTo the team, to the standards, and to what is right.
LearningStay curious. Ask for feedback.
AppreciationNotice what others do well. Say so.
RespectTreat everyone with respect. Especially when it is hard.

The seven principles spell STELLAR — a memory device we use, though it is not what we call them in conversation. Around here, we just say "the principles."
